Of course, once it goes past $300 there's no way I could pay for it. But it made me happy for a few minutes.

If I had a spare $15000 I would snatch that up now! (Goes and posts 2003 350Z for sale on craigslist)

Probably the best condition I've seen front seats in at that mileage. And the comments from the inspection such as rear subframe support plates installed upside down and the mentions of rust around suspension components does not sound good. Depending on how it runs I wouldn't give over $15k for it. The mileage, knowing what I know first-hand from restoring an E30, etc. bring this one down a few notches. Wonder how long it's been in Washington state.

$15K is exactly what I had in mind. There website lists it for $25K though O.0

Lol, they want 99k$ for a Z8. Even if it is only 14k miles. For me really low km/miles is actually rather good, because that means a lot of things in the engine could need to be replacement.

They have some pretty strange ideas about pricing...

Their website lists almost every BMW at $25k, it seems like. At least what I see on Facebook.

You want strange? Check out http://enthusiastauto.com/

Their business model is to buy up decent examples from private parties for just over what the average person would pay and flipping it for $10-20k more. Over the past 2-3 years, they made it next to impossible to jump on a "diamond in the rough" when it comes to E39 M5's. I was luck enough to get to one in Charlotte before they got wind of it. They've slowed down due to how much inventory they have (asking $34k for a 60k mile M5 is a tough pill to swallow for most) which is nice.

Unless it's already had a rebuild, it's looking at one within 50k miles. Sooner depending on how it was driven, so there's $12k. Then redoing the air-con can run $3-4k if you need to replace everything, rust removal gets you into the hundreds/thousands, etc., etc.

I had wondered if that was Munich Evo's goal too, but they can't buy up all of them. Munich has undergone some strange changes as well, losing a main dude to just doing freelance consignment nonsense. I remember Enthusiast from having that M3 LTW.

The "corrosion" (rust) around the windshield is a 1k repair IF they don't break the windshield getting it out. The windshield breaks 90% of the time. Once they are in there they will find that they need to clean/sand/metal many spots around the entire circumference of the opening. I know this from personal experience.

Nice car though. If you can get it for 15 it's a great price. Oil leak could be as simple as valve cover gaskets... or not. Put 5k into it and you'd have a 25k car. 150k is not a lot of miles.

Also, beware of steam cleaning engines of this age. Heat and moisture are not kind to old hoses and belts and rubber bits. Better a toothbrush and simple green with a brisk drive afterwards to dry things out.

Good points. I will remember that if I can ever spend $15k on any car...
